If you’ve been watching the Bangkok Post classifieds and seen the recruitment ads you’ll know the word is out about a new rock bar Bangkok Rocks. The kick ass new bar opened May 1 and features classic rock with house band Twisted Nerve fronted by British frontman rocker Jamie Keeble. For the tourists wandering the sois, the exact address is: BANGKOK ROCKS, 19-19/1-3 Sukhumvit Soi 19, just downstairs from the Asoke BTS and next door to the Westin Grande Hotel under the Key Hotel. Bands take the stage from 9pm sharp playing three one-hour sets of classic rock. See you there!
BANGKOK ROCKS OPENS!
Bangkok’s Sukhumvit Soi 19 will be rockin’ as ‘Bangkok Rocks’, a new theme rock venue opens it doors. It is easy to find, situated opposite Asoke BTS and right next door to the Westin Grande Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 19 under the Key Hotel. Bangkok Rocks is open to the street, chic, cool and sophisticated with a stainless steel bar, great stage lighting, wireless guitars and the latest in JBL surround sounds. You can view the stage as you enter and see walls of video on LCD screens with all your favorite rock heroes.
We have great live bands every night such as 61 Highway, Damn Banjos and Twisted Nerve. The bands come on about 9pm and perform 3 sets, with a twenty minute break, finishing the show with rock favorites at 1am.
Tony, one of the founders explains: “Rock clubs don’t have to be dingy! We were looking to create a rock bar where you could chill out, relax and listen to great music. We wanted to give the band the best possible platform to perform and the audience the best possible show. We provide the best live singers and musicians. It’s a show! The music comes first, it’s a mixture of classic and modern rock with a twist.”
Coming soon will be the ‘Purple Haze’ lounge, with five exclusive VIP booths with live feeds to their own private LCD screens to see the action in superstar comfort.
Rock romantics! If you bring a girlfriend, she will get a free drink.
Bangkok Rocks will be open from 2pm until 1am. It’s the great place to be if you like good music.

BANGKOK ROCKS OPENING CELEBRATION!

On Friday 1st May the opening band is ‘Twisted Nerve!’ featuring one of Bangkok’s top performers Jamie Keeble, along with number one local vocalist Nui. On Saturday 2nd May we have the great rock band ‘61 Highway’, who will also have a regular set on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Bangkok Rocks will be open from 11am until 1am. On Friday May 1st there is a special free Tapas buffet from 6-8pm. The live band ‘Twisted Nerve’ comes on in the evening and performs 3 sets, with a twenty minute break, finishing the show with rock favorites at 1am.
