Noriega’s is no more and Nomads is more or less Noriega’s with a few new amps and a born-again commercial attitude. That means you get your money’s worth, good food, cool tunes and some of your old favourites. This coming weekend is evidence of the latter and if you are looking to lig or gig, Nomads just might be the place to start:

Following its renaissance as Nomads the venue is much, much nicer. The bar is now at the back which creates a comfortable open space in the front, in place of the narrow tunnel that used to be in front of the stage. The sound is vastly improved with new amps and mics, a new mixer and even a spanking new Gretsch drum kit, replacing the collection of old trash cans that were piled up in the corner and used as a torture instrument for drummers. The restaurant is opening next week with a new menu too. New manager, Kim, has many years of experience in the catering business and it shows.
