Fresh off the Grapevine  - Tokyo Joe’s Music Bar and restaurant has quietly re-opened once again with at least some of the original owners including Big Jeff T putting their hearts and bucks back into this famous blues venue. Sunday they once again hosted the Blues Jam which has become synonymous with Blues in Asia. Tokyo Joe’s actually re-opened on Saturday October 15th, 2011 at the same location as its previous reincarnation on Sukhumvit Soi 26, opening with live music featuring Soi Dog from 9.30pm onwards.  Word is the stripped down venue will have live music four nights a week, from Thursday through the Sunday jam, and the owners have invested in a completely new set of musical equipment, much of it quality second hand gear as opposed to new stuff made in China. The kitchen is much scaled down and the menu will be only one page for the time being, while prices are set to be affordable to everyone’s budget. There is a coin-operated pool table on the second floor and a nice outdoor area for smokers…usually where the cool guys and gals hang out….we can’t count the number of those who told us Tokyo Joe’s was gone forever..but as us insiders know…when you got the Blues for oxygen you got a better than good chance of outlasting the competition….get on down there and make it fly!
