This story is from the August 16th, 1973 issue of Rolling Stone.
Los Angeles – Dick Clark has few frustrations. But the man who’s had things go his way for 20 years – who fell into the Bandstand job through other people’s mistakes; who emerged from the central depths of the Fifties payola scandal as the Clearasil-clean millionaire Prince of Rock and Roll (while the King, Alan Freed, died penniless); who considers himself “just a bystander” in today’s drugola mess; who’s built an entertainment empire covering TV, radio, films, concert promotions and, of course, corporate consultant work in the field of youth – is upset. Worth Getting Wet For! April 13, 2012

It is that time of year again when the whole of Thailand collectively ends up mesmerised by the Songkran Goddess. As is traditionally the case, Det 5 will – very enthusiastically and exuberantly – be joining in the H2O phantasmagoria, on Friday 13/04. We are firing up the (Free!) BBQ around lunch time, and our kitchen wizards will be cooking up a proverbial storm throughout the day. Eighty (80!) kg of herbal marinated chicken and accompanying “Phad Mee” have been ordered.
The outside front patio garden area tends to get rather wet, as children and adults alike partake in the water festivities. The inside restaurant area remains a “dry zone”. We are also looking at introducing a “bubble-bath-foam” element to the fun so you’ll all end up going home “spic-’n-span-squeaky-clean” in the evening…
We look forward to seeing you on Friday-the-Thirteenth and wish you and your family a very Happy New Year.

Since the company was founded 50 years ago, Marshall has become one of the most recognisable and iconic names in rock guitar, with the company’s unmistakable livery gracing stages across the globe. Jim Marshall started out as a drum kit retailer but began building amplifiers in the early 1960s, setting out to create a new valve guitar amplifier, using the Fender Bassman circuit as a model. With the sixth prototype, he hit upon ‘the Marshall sound’. The rest is history. (more…)

Redefining the Restaurant Experience – celebrity Spanish chef Fernando Andres helps redefine the very essence of fine dining – with a special Spanish twist…
It’s no coincidence that Fernando Andres, the executive chef at Catalana Tapas and Wine restaurant on Sukhumit Soi 11, is obsessed with the quality of the ingredients he uses to make his own very special tapas. The minute you walk in to the carefully-manicured, beautifully-appointed restaurant of an evening, you are struck by the degree of warmth and hospitality afforded by the immaculate décor and stunning lighting design.
