After the horror of that day in Norway, it becomes all the more urgent that mankind starts to carve a new reality devoid of idiotic references to ill-conceived mediaeval concepts of religion and mindless social conformity based on usery and manipulation for the ends of the greedy, the selfish and the patently evil. That is the central message of this film and song.

The Jungle prides itself on knowing the music business in Bangkok pretty much inside out – who is playing with whom and where and when, who sucks, who is totally bad and of course where all the good gear is. Having a guitar round our necks often enough helps of course, and owning the odd priceless guitar means we need to keep our kit in perfect condition – thus we need someone who knows what they are talking about when it comes to precious guitars. Someone cool who can fix things, set them up, order new bits and generally excel as a guitar tech par excellence. Oh and he stocks Suhr guitars too in his Town-in-Town shop as well as the coolest FX choices in town. You gotta go HERE!

Everybody wants to be rich. Musos too. Ever wonder why Bono joined forces with wannabe musician Roger McNamee in Elevation Partners? Believe me, it wasn’t to shepherd the birth of the unnecessary Palm Pre, it was to get rich. Because you just can’t make enough money in the music business anymore. Bon Jovi had the top tour of 2010. Gross was $108 million. However you split that up, you’re better off being Lloyd Blankfein than Jon Bon Jovi. Blankfein makes millions each and every year. He doesn’t need a hit record, he doesn’t need to convince punters in the hinterlands to invest, he just rapes and pillages and pays off politicians until the money comes rolling in. (more…)

Deep in the Jungle, we often lament the fact that the price of guitars is driven by the name rather than the fine work that goes into them. We hope one day we’ll find the guy making great guitars for kids who can afford them and need not aspire to the bigger names…so here’s a few pages of information to turn on that luthier-in-waiting we all want to appear…somewhere!
