Stavros, Thailand has 204 AM stations, 334 FM stations and six short wave broadcasters at least. As is the case with television, radio broadcasting is supposed to be regulated by the Broadcasting Commission (BC). However, because of delays in establishing the NBC, radio frequencies remain in the hands of a plethora of government agencies, including the military, state universities, the Posts and Telegraph Department, the Public Relations Department (PRD) (National Broadcasting Services of Thailand) and MCOT. These agencies operate several stations directly, while the remainder are leased out to private content providers. It is estimated that there are 4,000 known “illegal” community radio stations in Thailand. Some critics claim that the actual number of “unlicensed” community radio stations are twice that of government estimates.

correct me if I am wrong – but all the thai radio stations come under the military “umbrella” here…a couple of stations play top 40 hits – and have a few expat falung announcers… and yes lots of thai talk shows with call in questions and comments – but I believe that all stations have to go thru some sort of gov vetting…as far as know there are no small “independant” niche stations that can play whatever they want…and some thai’s do like blues and classic rock- just not profitable enuff I think

I am a blues singer and songwriter and I live in the USA. I have been trying to find radio stations in Thailand which play blues but I cannot seem to find any. I was wondering if anyone can recommend any radio stations and/or provide their website addresses. I am eager to have my songs heard in my favorite country.
